Resumen

This paper focuses on how the creation and use of Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) potentiates the acquisition of digital competence and improves the teaching and learning process. This project was carried out in an educational experience, which allowed us to study the implementation of a teaching unit on blogging in an italian school with Spanish Language students, all coordinated from Spain through the use of web 2.0 tools. This work is structured in two parts, one addressed to the bases that conceptualize aspects of internet, web 2.0 and educational methodologies, and a second one, that explains the development of research, ending with analysis and triangulation of data and the obtaining of conclusions.
