Resumen

In this article we want to delve into the current situation and future possibilities of the classic field of Social Education: the socio-cultural animation and cultural management. In the professional practice we understand them with a socio-educational intention, cultural content and social perspective. Reflecting from this approach – that of the action and cultural management from social education- turns out to be interesting and necessary in order to continue strengthening our speech, to give answer to several questions about cultural policies, sharing approaches and experiences, and also, to do a deep exercise of self-criticism about our activity, the professional exercise of it and the formation of the social educator as professionals of action and cultural management. Having said this, and with the purpose of vindicating the professional role of social education in the field of social-cultural animation and cultural management, we will begin a reflective journey around different situations, concepts, perspectives and models that flood- at times drown- the work of cultural action
