Resumo

This study entitled “Art therapy for trauma and violence against women: design, implementation and analysis of methods and intervention checklists” forms part of the R&D project “ALETHEIA: art, art therapy, trauma and emotional memory”, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Universities (ref. HAR2015-69115-R) and carried out between 2016 and 2019 at the Complutense University of Madrid Faculty of Education under the direction of Professor Marián López Fernández Cao. The main goal of this research project was to shed light on the contribution of art and creative processes to the assimilation of traumatic experiences. The capacity of art and creative therapies to integrate verbal and symbolic language renders them promising approaches to treat trauma.
