Resumen

En el campo académico de la educación social el estudio del ocio educativo ha adquirido notable importancia. Pero la profundización académica en este campo ha sido principalmente anglosajona y europea. Des de una perspectiva internacional y transcultural el artículo busca presentar las características de los estudios del ocio educativo en su desarrollo, subrayando las aportaciones que ofrecen sobre este campo los ámbitos académicos de Latinoamérica, África, Medio Oriente y Asia. En su conjunto el artículo busca ofrecer un mapa transcultural introductivo al desarrollo del estudio del ocio educativo a partir de culturas y contextos académicos ajenos a los contextos culturales que hasta ahora han marcado su consolidación.
