Résumé
This Doctoral Thesis has had as its main objective the study of the needs of orientation and university services, analyzing the influence that self-concept has on this process, focusing on certain variables such as gender, age and origin of the students. A mixed methodology was carried out, using the quantitative and qualitative method of collecting and analyzing the information. Regarding the quantitative methodology, a descriptive and exploratory cross-sectional design was carried out. A total of 500 students of Vocational Training and various careers corresponding to the University of Extremadura followed by the Technological University of Loja, and the International University of Ecuador participated. The mean age of the sample is 23.45. Contrast test inferential analyzes were performed. Finally, the importance of self-concept in orientation processes is concluded, in addition to the incidence in the variables (gender, age, and origin of the students). With regard to the qualitative part of this research, and with the aim of analyzing the situation of professional and academic orientation, it sought to give voice to the protagonists of this, through the focus group technique. The selection of the sample for the discussion group was carried out following the criterion of the deliberate examination. The participants have been organized into three groups: the first called (motor group) the second called (group of experts) and, finally, the third group (people involved).
