Abstract

Museums, like the rest of society, are theoretically undergoing a process of transformation towards sustainability. The promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in these organisations is encouraging their social focus. This research has focused on the case of the Museo del Traje Centro de Investigación del Patrimonio Etnológico. The preliminary study carried out in this research analyses the relationship of the face-to-face activities organised by the Museum and the relationship on these activities with the SDGs and the dimensions of sustainability proposed by the Ibermuseos Programme. The main conclusions obtained indicate that, although there are still areas for improvement, the Museo del Traje has established itself as a model museum that has made a great effort in this transformation towards sustainabitity. As shown in the study, through the face-to-face activities organised published on its website, this museum addresses each of the 17 SDGs proposed by the United Nations and the sustainability dimensions of museums. This effort allows the Museum to carry out a social approach with a greater impact.
