Zusammenfassung

Introduction: The role played by siblings of people with intellectual disabilities (ID) within the family nucleus becomes especially relevant throughout the vital stage, but especially in adulthood, where important decisions are made and the generational relay is carried out. The objective of the research is to explore the impact factors that intervene in the sibling relationship between siblings when one of them presents ID and to analyze the training competencies in order to propose an Educational Program of Family Accompaniment for siblings of people with ID in adulthood. The research has a mixed methodology and has 2 studies in which the categories of analysis are attachment bonds, personal and emotional experience, family and social environment and life project: 1) interpretative phenomenological design (qualitative) in which the perceptions of people with intellectual disabilities (5 participants) and siblings of people with intellectual disabilities (10 participants) are analyzed through personal interviews..., and 2) descriptive design (quantitative) in which the realities collected through the digital questionnaire for siblings of people with disabilities (60 participants) are described. The results and discussion show that the current relationship between siblings is a predictor of the future relationship (Travers, Carlton and Carter, 2020), and therefore it is important to provide siblings with strategies and tools in adulthood, especially in the educational/pedagogical area. Being informed about the sibling's ID and support needs is a predictor of becoming a reference person for the person with ID
