Resumo

The present research tries to establish the most important readability parameters in the selection of reading books for 2nd and 3rd cycle students of primary school. A computational system is postulated using data mining techniques, which was able to automatically classify readings, according to syntactic, lexical, semantic and topological parameters of text. The validity of the process is verified by the classification established by publishing experts who categorize children’s books by age ranges according to their comprehensibility.
